The KA-BAR BK7 Combat Utility is the result of the successful cooperation between knife maker Ethan Becker and knife producer KA-BAR. The knife was designed to offer as much stability as possible for its weight. This knife can handle its own. The blade is made from 1095-carbon steel. This steel, however, is not corrosion-resistant. Fortunately the blade is enhanced with a black coating to make sure maintenance is a lot easier. 1095 carbon steel is easy to sharpen and forgiving when it comes to demanding use.
The comfortable handle is made from Zytel. A sustainable light-weight and strong type of plastic. Because of its size the BK7 can also be easily be used if you have (very) large hands or when wearing gloves. At the end of the handle a part of the steel tang is sticking out, which you can use as an improvised hammer.
The included sheath is made from nylon with a plastic insert and is MOLLE compatible. The front of the sheath is enhanced with an additional sheath you can use to store the KA-BAR BK13CP Remora. As such you can always keep two knives close using only one sheath.
