For those already with the master keyboards but need more choice for sound. This is the rack with the massive choice of sounds that anyone could ever need housing GM and GS sets as well as korgs own.

The KORG N1R boasts a gigantic collection of sampled waveforms, with 563 multisamples and 304 drum samples stored in 18 Mbytes of PCM ROM. These include superb-quality keyboard and synth samples used in Korg's world-renowned TRINITY and SGproX keyboards.

The N1R also features a high-quality stereo sampled piano, electric pianos, acoustic instruments and a multitude of drum sounds. KORG's sophisticated AI2 Synthesis System brings these elements together to create great sound programs.

The N1R's internal memory gives you access to an amazing 1,671 sounds + 39 drum kits. The preset area contains 1,169 sound programs which include GM (General MIDI Level 1) compatible sounds, and 302 combinations, each of which lets you bring together up to eight sound programs. The user area allows you to store 100 sound programs and 100 combinations, and comes pre-voiced from the factory.

With two independent stereo multi-effect processors providing 48 different effects, the N1R contains everything you need to create your sound and add the finishing touches. The N1R has the same powerful Performance mode featured on the N1/N5 keyboards so you can easily access layers and splits, as well as performance functions such as polyphonic portamento and an arpeggiator.

Control, Speed, Versatility:

The front panel provides four knobs (VDFA Attack/ Release Time, VDF Cutoff, Effect Dynamic Modulation) for dynamic tonal changes. You are also free to assign four additional parameters from a large selection of parameters to these knobs.

These settings can be stored in internal memory as one of 32 performances, letting you recall and play sound settings instantly. The MIDI-syncable arpeggiator provides twenty types of preset patterns, with control over a number of parameters like swing, gate time and more.

When a keyboard is connected, you can select which part will play the arpeggio (Lower, Upper, or All). This allows you to play arpeggios in the lower part, for example, while you play melody or chords in the upper part. Some arpeggio patterns have been designed to work well with bass lines, while others work well for creating grooves from drum kits.

Visualy and internationaly compatible:

The N1R features a 144 x 40 pixel full-graphic backlit LCD that can be switched from amber to green. LFO waveforms, bar graphs, pan, level, keyboard diagrams and more are displayed visually for exceptionally easy sound editing.

The N1R provides GM, GS and XG-compatible sound maps, and a convenient, built-in PC interface connector that lets you connect your computer with just a single cable (the separately sold AG-001/002 is required).

It offers an amazing 32-part multitimbrality when using this direct connection.
