Com novas funções, melhor qualidade gráfica e muita música boa, Guitar Hero 5 foi uma grande jogada da Neversoft e Activision.
Novos desafios:
"Guitar Hero 5" prevê mudanças significativas em relação à ultima edição canônica, chamada "World Tour". A primeira delas é o sistema de avaliação, com seis estrelas, permitindo depurar melhor do desempenho do jogador. O título está disponível para Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii e PlayStation 2.
Além disso, cada canção traz um desafio temático, como manter o multiplicador por algum tempo no nível 4x, conseguir determinada pontuação ou usar a alavanca de tremolo o quanto puder. "Guitar Hero 5" também prevê avatares de artistas famosos: já estão confirmados nesta edição a lenda do country Johnny Cash, o guitarrista Carlos Santana, o ídolo Kurt Cobain e Shirley Manson, vocalista do Garbage.
