MIDI Solutions Breath Controller Interface Box

The MIDI Solutions Breath Controller Interface Box is a breath to MIDI converter for use with the Breath Controller. The Breath Controller accepts the Yamaha BC3A as input and generates continuous MIDI data corresponding to the amount of breath pressure applied to it. The Breath Controller Box will also accept older Yamaha BC1 and BC2 units. The Breath Controller can be programmed to send Aftertouch, Pitchbend, Control Change, System Exclusive. The Breath Controller has a MIDI Echo parameter that is selectable on/off. By default, it sends MIDI Volume data (CC#7) on MIDI channel 1 in response to your breath pressure, with the Echo parameter set to ON. Another unique feature of the Breath Controller is its ability to add a variable amount of curvature to the response of the applied pressure of the BC3A. This allows you to correct for a nonlinear response, or to add greater response at one end of the breath range compared to the other.
